Have you seen the movie Moneyball? In the decade+ since it was released, Big Data and Data Analytics has exploded. In this project, you’ll dive into data-driven sports analytics on a real life case from OHL, a Belgian proleague football club.

Over 3-4 days, around fifteen students from Businet member schools work on a case study focused on beer marketing.

The goal of these "Busidays" is to explore beer marketing through lectures and hands-on experience in solving a real-world marketing challenge for the brewing company, Saint-Feuillien. The event also provides an opportunity to meet other international students and to discover the city of Namur.

This project allows students studying either science, technology, engineering and mathematics to work within an international setting to explore tidal power and ground source heat pump technology in a practical setting. The groups will look to gather data and report on their eventual findings on the last day of the project.

Staying in shared accommodation within the idyllic Carronvale House, Larbert participants will have ample free time to explore further afield if they wish. There will be welcome evening taste of Scotland on arrival and also a closing meal on the final evening. Participants have to make their way to and from Carronvale House, however any transport required for the project activities will be included.

Paris Project - Communications Group - Staff and student mobility, 31/03/25 - 04/04/25

The Communications group gathers teaching staff, programme managers, and international relations coordinators. Together, they work collectively on the development of a common annual project aligned to supporting teaching staff mobility and enhancement of student work-based learning experiences. The aims of the group are to facilitate:

·         Teaching staff mobility

·         Collaboration between teachers, students, and live clients

·         Promoting multidisciplinary and cooperative learning experiences

·         Working with live client briefs to promote work-based learning

·         Developing cross-cultural learning

·         Research surrounding project themes and outcomes

·         Promote student collaboration in an international arena

Group members work cooperatively in developing and participating a yearly staff and student project organised by a selected host institution appointed during the annual Businet conference. Projects promote collaboration transcending borders, cultures, and subject disciplines. Participating staff mentor small student groups to support the creation of a communications strategy for an existing business sourced by the host institution as a live client project. Projects require students to compete in mixed multidisciplinary teams consisting of students from varying countries to promote cross-cultural learning and a sense of competition. Projects enhance opportunity for the development of broad business, marketing, and creative skills to resolve the communications challenge set by the client.

Increase your cross-cultural and marketing knowledge in a very demanding and competitive beer market in order to develop the activities of a Belgian brewery !

For this Louvain-la-Neuve located International Marketing week, students will have to adapt a marketing plan to fit a local brewery's new challenges.

This week will be the opportunity to meet other students and have fun in a cross-cultural environment while discovering the wonderful Belgian beer world.

This week will be a mix of problem solving case in order to develop the cooperation, creativity and flexibility of students within an international environment. Student will also visit local brewery and enjoy beer tastings. Social activities and a visit of European capital, Brussels, will also be foreseen in order to develop the intercultural understanding and the beer discovery.  The week will be a mix of conferences, working session coached by professional with a final presentation and prize ceremony. If you are interested to discover Belgian beer know-how in a student city, this week is for you ! 

More than ever, it’s important to drive your business, keeping the eyes on key figures in a dashboard… just as you do it to drive your car. The recent Corona crisis forced companies to rebuild their business and to reorganize it, transforming the threats into opportunities. If you haven’t a solid management system, it can be more difficult to keep up. 

During the week, we will focus on KPIs (Key performance indicators) : Why is it so important to have a good dashboard ?  Examples of relevant KPIs – testimonials of companies. Drive your own virtual business in teams and try to perform and maximize your own KPIs in a competitive environment. 

In our program you will find:

• A lecture and visit of AGC European Research Center  
• A visit of Choco Story (Chocolate museum in Brussels) and the town center of Brussels  
• A business game during which you will in team drive a company that produces and sells leisure boats 

We are thrilled to announce the upcoming International Week “Building Resilience and Networks for the Digital Future“, hosted by Kauno kolegija on 7-11 April, 2025.

The International Week, focused on current global challenges and highlighting the importance of global cooperation, will cover aspects of resilience, digital transformation and networking.

We are planning a dynamic schedule involving a diverse group of participants: students, academic and administrative staff, international guests and our social partners. Activities will include creative workshops, lectures, the forum and more.

EURIE is the premier international education event in Eurasia, connecting the dynamic higher education sector in Eurasia to the world. EURIE exhibition offers effective networking, academic partnership and business development opportunities for the participant higher education institutions. EURIE conference addresses current issues in internationalization of higher education and higher education management with the participation of prominent experts in the field.

As part of the management team, run your own virtual company, The Fresh Connection, a manufacturer of fruit juices. Faced with declining performance, your team must get the company back on track by taking the best sales and supply chain operation decisions. You will have fun competing against other teams to generate the best Return on investment (ROI). 

The virtual spring workshops will take place between 12 and 23 May 2025

One of the major USP’s of the network is our "Curriculum specific" working groups and "Special Interest Groups". These groups meet at the Annual Conference of the network in November. There are 16 groups. More information can be found about the groups here.

These groups work on developing activities for staff and students and they make Businet the vibrant, active network that it is.

It takes time to discuss plans and to develop new ideas, so in addition to the annual conference, interested partners get together to plan and have 'thought showers'.

In addition not everyone can attend the Annual Conference so it allows them to play a part in the groups activities.

The event is typically openned with a Special Businet Brunch on a theme of topical interest to the network members.  The event concludes with a feedback session from all the working groups.  There will be an opportunity for non members to meet the board to find out more about the benefits of membership.
